State University of New York (SUNY) Upstate Medical University in Syracuse, N.Y., has selected Wellsoft's EDIS, in an effort to streamline the delivery of care to its patients at the area's only Level I Trauma Center.

According to Wellsoft (Somerset, N.J.), its patient tracking system will be customized to meet the critical care monitoring needs of the physicians, nurses and specialists at SUNYUpstateMedicalUniversity. In addition, Wellsoft says its solution will enable the hospital to track the status of orders placed, alert staff to factors such as the elapsed time, and to flag results on the Wellsoft v11 tracking display.

The Emergency Department at University Hospital serves both adult and pediatric patients and sees more than 51,000 patients per year.
