The Allied Health Department of the University of Hawaii-Maui Community College (UH-Maui CC) in Kahului, Hawaii is utilizing technology and services from American TeleCare (ATI), Inc. (Eden Prairie, Minn.) for Project OHANA (Online Health and Academic Network Access), a nursing telehealth initiative.

The goal of the project, which is being funded by the Rural Utilities Service Distance Learning and Telemedicine program, is to develop and evaluate best practices for the integration of telehealth in nurse training and clinical practice, says the company.

UH-Maui CC’s Allied Health Department is deploying the inLife and LifeView Telehealth Systems. According to the company, inLife Patient Stations gather and transmit both objective clinical data and subjective patient-reported information, while LifeView Patient Stations provide interactive audio-video for televisits and video snapshot capture capability.
