Exempla Healthcare, a three-hospital system and network of clinics based in Denver, has signed a three-year agreement with Alpharetta, Ga.-based Novo Innovations to improve its health information exchange system.

The organization has deployed Novo’s agent-based healthcare exchange solution at its hospitals, which the company says will facilitate the delivery of patient data electronically to the ambulatory EMR systems at its affiliated physician practices. Exempla will also leverage the system to securely and quickly transfer data such as lab results and transcribed reports to practices without EMRs through Novo’s “drop box” functionality.

Exempla is a not-for-profit, community-based organization sponsored by Community First Foundation and the Sisters of Charity of Leavenworth Health System.
