OSF Healthcare System (Peoria, Ill.) and The Nebraska Medical Center (Omaha, Neb.) have selected TheraDoc's electronic surveillance and clinical decision support systems in an effort to improve their infection control and antimicrobial stewardship programs.
OSF's acute care facilities and The Nebraska Medical Center, a 689 bed academic medical center, will implement TheraDoc's Expert System Platform (ESP) and its suite of Knowledge Modules to address patient safety threats such as hospital-acquired infections, antimicrobial-resistant diseases and adverse drug events, says the clinical informatics company.
According to TheraDoc, its Infection Control Assistant (ICA) will provide automated infection surveillance, intelligent alerts, and analysis of infections that threaten patient safety. The ICA leverages clinical data from multiple sources—including information from laboratory, radiology and surgery departments—delivering patient information and medical knowledge to infection control staff, contends the Salt Lake City-based company.
