The Bowling Green, Ky.-based Commonwealth Health Corporation (CHC) recently deployed Horizon, InnerWireless' medical-grade wireless utility, at its 330-bed flagship community hospital, The Medical Center at Bowling Green.

According to InnerWireless, a provider of in-building wireless solutions, CHC now has wireless coverage for life- and mission-critical devices and applications including: voice-grade 802.11 b/g, infusion pumps, bedside medication administration and bedside blood bank automation. In addition, Horizon's signal provides clinicians and staff with wireless coverage for cell phones, tablet PCs and other handheld devices, says the company.

InnerWireless (Richardson, Texas) contends Horizon also supports asset tracking and VoIP — both under consideration for future implementation at CHC — as well as several other applications and devices.
