The Society for Imaging Informatics in Medicine (SIIM) of Lessburg, Va., has announced the third year of its scholarship program for trainees who are interested in imaging informatics.

The scholarship is open to radiology residents, fellows, and medical students from North America. Applicants are asked to submit a 500-750 word essay on the following topic: “How Imaging Informatics Affects Radiology Education.” The winning essays will be published in the Journal of Digital Imaging or SIIM News. The application deadline is Feb. 15.

Travel expenses and meeting registration for the SIIM 2008 annual meeting, as well as a one-year SIIM membership, will go to the winners. The SIIM annual meeting takes place in Seattle, May 15-18.
