With an eye on improving patient care, Utah Health Information Network (UHIN) has selected San Jose, Calif.-based Axolotl Corp., to supply HIT for its clinical information exchange network.

According to the company, clinicians at UHIN will be able to access information with patient permission from federated sources via Axolotl’s Elysium Virtual Health Record. Clinical results will be delivered electronically to ambulatory EMRs, Axolotl’s Elysium EMR Lite with ePrescribing, and public health departments. Axolotl will provide hosting and related services.

UHIN is a statewide initiative designed to provide clinicians with the ability to electronically locate, connect to and review patient information across multiple healthcare organizations.
