Rick Ratliff, COO at Alexandria, Va.-based SureScripts has been appointed to the Certification Commission for Healthcare Information Technology (CCHIT) board of commissioners.

The Certification Commission is governed by a 21-member Board of Commissioners from healthcare academic and private sector organizations, and governmental agencies. The Commission oversees the work of its voluntary work groups and expert panels.

Founded by the pharmacy industry in 2001, SureScripts operates the Pharmacy Health Information Exchange, which facilitates the secure electronic transmission of prescription information between physicians and pharmacists.
