Providence St. Mary Medical Center, a 142-bed hospital in Walla Walla, Wash., has selected ProVation Medical software for gastroenterology and pulmonary procedure documentation and coding.

ProVation MD software from Conshohocken, Penn.-based Wolters Kluwer Health will replace dictation/transcription and streamline the coding and billing process, says the company. It will enable clinicians to document medical procedures and apply the appropriate CPT and ICD codes, as well as CCI edits.

In 2007, Providence St. Mary Medical Center was the recipient of the Premier | CareScience Select Practice National Quality Award, which recognizes the top one percent of acute care hospitals in the United States that have the best patient outcomes and are operated with the greatest efficiency.
