David Grant USAF Medical Center (DGMC) at Travis Air Force Base, Calif., has gone with San Diego-based
CliniComp Intl.’s Essentris inpatient clinical documentation solution.
The deployment includes Essentris CPOE, GDR (Global Data Repository) and OnWatch (clinical surveillance) in the medical/surgical, intensive care and medical health units. The 84-bed hospital plans to implement Essentris in the ED, perinatal, same-day surgery and post-anesthesia care units in the near future, according to the company.
The rollout at DGMC was part of a contract CliniComp was awarded by the Department of Defense to provide clinical documentation solutions to 36 medical treatment facilities over the next 24 months.
Serving military beneficiaries throughout eight western states, the David Grant USAF Medical Center is the largest inpatient military treatment facility in Air Mobility Command and the second largest in the U.S. Air Force, providing care to a nearly 96,000 TRICARE eligible beneficiaries in the San Francisco-Sacramento vicinity and 377,000 Department of Veterans Affairs Northern California Health Care System eligibles.
