Willmar, Minn.-based Rice Memorial Hospital selected Addison, Texas-based MEDHOST’s software for its ED as part of a hospital-wide effort to switch to electronic documentation.

According to the company, Rice Memorial will install MEDHOST’s solution, which integrates The Sullivan Group’s Patient Risk and Safety module as well as First DataBank’s OrderView Med Knowledge Base. This version includes decision support functionality, point-of-care risk alerts, and CPOE-ready drug content, says MEDHOST.

As part of the hospital’s efforts to shift away from paper documentation, clinicians at Rice Memorial Hospital will use MEDHOST to electronically enter and access patient information in real time anywhere in the ED, says the company.
