Hospital Universitario Son Dureta, a 900-bed hospital in Palma de Mallorca, Spain, has selected a group of healthcare technology providers comprising Intel (Santa Clara, Calif.), Oracle (Redwood Shores, Calif.) and Orion Health (Aukland, New Zealand) to pilot the Motion C5 mobile clinical assistant (MCA) platform.
Using RFID technology — integrated into the MCA — to read patient wristbands, healthcare staff can access patient information such as demographics and clinical results (e.g. blood tests, scans, etc.) at the point of care, says Orion Health.
According to Orion, the Motion C5 is based on the Intel mobile clinical assistant platform and was designed following Intel's research with clinicians.
