NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital is deploying an advanced automated dispensing system from Mountain View, Calif.-based Omnicell, Inc. to manage medication solutions throughout the organization.

Omnicell’s SinglePointe software is designed to enable staff to monitor and control medications throughout the hospital and pharmacy environments, which can help to reduce preventable medication errors, it says. With the implementation, the hospital aims to improve nursing and pharmacy workflows while increasing medication surveillance.

The Hospital provides inpatient, ambulatory and preventive care at five major centers: NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital/Weill Cornell Medical Center, NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital/Columbia University Medical Center, NewYork-Presbyterian Morgan Stanley Children’s Hospital, NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital/The Allen Pavilion and NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital/Westchester Division.
