Netherlands-based Royal Philips Electronics is launching its Remote Device Management Tool, an integrated hardware management system for dictation.

The tool is designed to enable hospitals to centralize the configuration and administration of digital dictation hardware, resulting in more efficient roll out of recorders across an enterprise, according to the company. This is accomplished by connecting the recorder to a computer and placing it in a docking station, where configuration is automatically updated. All settings are linked to the individual serial number and are stored in a central database.
