El Camino Hospital of Mountain View, Calif. has selected Amalga from Microsoft (Redmond, Wash.) as its data platform.

El Camino plans to use the product to aggregate its clinical, financial and administrative information, which currently resides in disparate, transaction-based systems, and integrate it into a single system that will allow it to better evaluate and improve quality of care, according to Microsoft. Amalga will also be used to monitor patients in real time to identify gaps in quality of care and improve patient outcomes.

El Camino Hospital is located on a 41-acre campus in the heart of Silicon Valley, and serves El Camino Hospital District — Mountain View, Los Altos, Los Altos Hills, and portions of Sunnyvale and Palo Alto — as well as those in surrounding communities.
