Prematics (Bethesda, Md.), an electronic prescribing service, has formed a partnership with RxHub, a St Paul, Minn.-based organization that facilitates the exchange of patient insurance and medication history information.

According to Prematics, the partnership combines RxHub's prescription data base with Prematics' service to drive mainstream adoption of electronic prescribing.

Prematics contends that it will leverage the RxHub infrastructure to provide a platform that can deliver clinical decision support information at the point-of-care, and the ability to route prescriptions electronically to retail and mail order pharmacies.
