Mary Washington Hospital of Fredericksburg, Va., which is part of MediCorp Health System, has selected Morrisville, N.C.-based RadarFind Real Time Location System (RTLS) to track the location and status of mobile medical equipment.

Using an asset tag, the company says in addition to location, its system provides detailed information on the status of equipment: available, in-use or needs cleaning/sterilization. The company also claims the status tag provides accurate equipment utilization information to help hospitals budget for new equipment expenditures. RadarFind says its system operates independently of a hospital’s critical WiFi network, utilizing synchronous multiple input/multiple output (MIMO) technology.

Mary Washington is a 442-bed regional hospital that provides cardiac, neurosurgery, trauma and other tertiary care while continuing to serve the community’s acute care needs.
