Project HealthDesign (Madison, Wisc.) is holding a one-day event entitled, New Frontiers in Personal Health Records, on Wednesday, Sept. 17 in Washington, D.C. that it says will unveil next-generation PHR application prototypes, and explore key policy and industry trends.

According to the organization, the show will showcase PHR applications created by Project HealthDesign’s nine multidisciplinary grantee teams from across the United States.

Among the topics are:

  • How do the prototype PHR applications work and how could they help people assume responsibility for their health and healthcare?
  • What lessons did project participants learn about user-centered design to support continued growth and innovation in the PHR arena?
  • What are policymakers and others doing to ensure that information contained in PHRs remains private and secure?
  • How could the common platform components developed by Project HealthDesign have broad application across the PHR field?
  • How do leaders of health systems think PHR applications could help providers deliver higher quality and more efficient, patient-centered care?

Project HealthDesign is a $5 million national program designed to support health and information technology pioneers in creating a new generation of personal health records that can share common technical functions.

To RSVP for the event, please contact Erica Garland (202) 745-5119 or send an email to [email protected].
