Ann Arbor, Mich.-based Health Level Seven (HL7) has announced the election of its Board of Directors for the 2008-2009 term.

The following four members were elected or re-elected:

· Treasurer — Dan Russler, M.D., vice president, clinical informatics, Oracle (Redwood Shores, Calif.)

· Director-at-Large — Hans Buitendijk, product manager, Siemens Medical Solutions USA Inc. (Danvers, Mass.)

· Director-at-Large — Linda Fischetti, R.N., acting chief health informatics officer and director, HealthePeople, U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (Washington)

· Affiliate Director — Michael van Campen, chair, HL7 Canada, and president, Gordon Point Informatics Ltd. (B.C.,Canada)

HL7 is a not-for-profit, Washington-based ANSI-accredited standards developing organization dedicated to providing a comprehensive framework and related standards for the exchange, integration, sharing, and retrieval of electronic health information.
