Huron Valley Physician Association (HVPA), an 800 physician Independent Practice Association headquartered in Ann Arbor, Mich., has selected Thomas Group to implement its "Way Forward Strategic Plan." Thomas Group Inc. is an operations and process improvement firm based in Anaheim, Calif.

According to Thomas Group, it recently led the strategic planning process to develop "Way Forward," focusing on initiatives that include: physician referral networks, utilization, IT infrastructures, communication, contracting with third party payers, and other initiatives.

"Thomas Group was selected for the implementation phase based on leadership and their expertise and experience in strategy development and process improvement implementation. We knew we required a 'change agent' group that will implement our strategic plan and best practices faster than we could on our own," says Paul Harkaway, M.D., president of HVPA.
