Rochester RHIO (N.Y.) has implemented eHealthConnect’s (Rochester, N.Y.) Image Exchange to automate access to patient images across participating healthcare institutions.

According to the company, the service integrates with Rochester RHIO’s Axolotl (San Jose, Calif.) health information exchange (HIE) system and connects to the PACS imaging services at eight radiology providers. In addition to automating access to images, the Image Exchange will cache 30 days of exams and provide the ability to pull older exams on-demand, says the company.

Lakeside Memorial Hospital, a 181-bed health care system in Brockport, N.Y., is the first health provider to integrate into the eHealthConnect Image Exchange.
