Boca Raton Community Hospital in Boca Raton, Fla. is deploying the Emergency Department Information System (EDIS) from Somerset, N.J.-based Wellsoft Corporation.

With the implementation, the facility aims to automate the ED process to track and treat patients, improve communication among caregivers, enhance patient safety and capture data for quality reporting, says the company. Boca Raton will utilize functionalities such as Clinical Decision Support and Image Capture to reduce wait times and length of stay, and will leverage Automatic charge capture to ensure appropriate billing, it touts.

Serving the community since 1967, Boca Raton Community Hospital is a 400-bed, not-for-profit organization with more than 700 primary and specialty physicians. Its ED serves more than 43,000 patients per year in the South Florida area.
