Intermountain Healthcare, a 21-hospital network based in Salt Lake City, Utah, is integrating imaging from all of its hospitals and clinics using Mortsel, Belgium-based Agfa Healthcare’s IMPAX 6.3 PACS.

The expanded solution utilizes a single, centralized database that consolidates images from facilities across the system and can lead to improvements in clinical workflow and continuity of care, says the company. Once IMPAX 6.3 is fully deployed, images will integrate with existing hospital and radiology information systems and storage infrastructure solutions.

Intermountain Healthcare owns and operates a non-profit system of hospitals that serves the medical needs of residents in Utah, southeastern Idaho and other states in the Intermountain West. The organization annually performs more than 1.2 million radiology studies.
