Cochran Named as President, CEO of VITL

Montpelier, Vt.-based Vermont Information Technology Leaders, Inc. (VITL) has named David Cochran, M.D., of Norwell, Mass., as its president and CEO.

Montpelier, Vt.-based Vermont Information Technology Leaders, Inc. (VITL) has named David Cochran, M.D., of Norwell, Mass., as its president and CEO.

Cochran is the former senior vice president for strategic development at Harvard Pilgrim Health Care, where he also served as associate medical director for clinical practice systems from 1993 to 2000.

VITL says that as president and CEO, Dr. Cochran will lead efforts to help Vermont’s physician practices adopt and implement electronic health records systems, and exchange clinical data on a secure health information exchange network.

Cochran is expected to begin work at VITL in early July.

VITL is a non-profit organization dedicated to expanding the use of health information technology to improve the quality and value of the state’s health care system.
