General Hospital in Lagos de Moreno, Jalisco, Mexico, has selected AeroScout Inc., a provider of Wi-Fi-based active RFID solutions, to take part in a project supported by the Mexican government to create a network of all digital hospitals.
Utilizing a Cisco (San Jose, Calif.) wireless infrastructure, the installation includes AeroScout's active RFID tags and software to track the location of medical equipment such as wheelchairs and other mobile assets, says the Redwood City, Calif.-based company.
In addition to tracking equipment, AeroScout says the hospital is also utilizing its solution to track patients as they move through the different medical areas of the facility.
