Orlando, Fla.-based Craneware Inc. has released Pharmacy ChargeLink, a software application that establishes and maintains a connection between a hospital’s pharmaceutical purchase history and its charge description master (CDM).

According to the company, this connection ensures correct pricing and coding, so that reimbursement for facility-administered medications is optimized. In addition, Craneware states that by connecting a hospital’s pharmaceutical purchase history and CDM, Pharmacy ChargeLink is able to strengthen the pharmacy billing policies through increased monitoring of internal pricing guidelines.

Pharmacy ChargeLink is linked to the Thomson Red Book database, a source for information and pricing data on prescription drugs and over-the-counter medications.
