West Des Moines, Iowa-based Briggs Medical Supply Company has introduced its next-generation wound and event photographic documentation system. The new system, the company says, will replace its longstanding film-based wound documentation system and will provide extended functionality at a substantially reduced cost to operate.

The new Briggs Patient Photo Record System combines Canon imaging technology with Briggs’ MediRule measurement overlay grids and extensive suite of other image documentation and storage products. The company says enhancements expected in the second quarter will provide an automatic digital wound measurement grid, the ability to electronically archive and transmit images to physicians or insurers, and a security system to further prevent the digital manipulation of images after the photograph is taken.
