Truman Medical Centers (TMC, Kansas City, Mo.) is installing Malvern, Pa.-based Siemens’ Somatom Definition AS 128 slice CT scanner.
The solution features adaptive dose shielding technology, which is designed to eliminate unnecessary radiation exposure to the patient through the pre and post scan range, says the company. At Truman, the scanner is situated in the Hospital Hill emergency department, where it can help clinicians manage the needs of critically ill patients without having to transport them to radiology, touts Siemens.
Truman is a not-for-profit, acute-care hospital health system that includes TMC Hospital Hill, TMC Lakewood, TMC Behavioral Health, the Jackson County Health Department and several primary care practices located throughout Eastern Jackson County.
