Radianse Inc. (Andover, Mass.) is introducing a plug-and-play Wi-Fi receiver designed to enable quicker installation of real-time location systems (RTLS).

The new receivers will connect to hospitals’ existing Wi-Fi (2.4GHz) networks and will continue to use Radianse’s patented algorithms, active-RFID and the 433 MHz UHF band to calculate location. The technology intends to deliver interference-free operation, room-level precision and support for patient tracking, throughput and clinical effectiveness applications to its hospital clients, according the company.
