The New Jersey Hospital Association (NJHA, Princeton, N.J.) has selected Third Brigade (Ontario, Canada), a security software company, to provide host intrusion detection and prevention systems for its New Jersey healthcare organizations.

According to Third Brigade, its system brings network security approaches, including firewall and intrusion detection and prevention, down to individual computers and devices. In addition, it shields vulnerabilities in Windows, Solaris, Linux and other Unix operating systems, as well as enterprise and Web applications common to healthcare providers, contends the company.

Under the three-year agreement, NJHA will provide access to Third Brigade's software to NJHA's 112 member hospitals and other partners through NJHA's Strategic Partner Program, says the company.
