Phoenix Children’s Hospital (Ariz.) is deploying Orion Health’s (Santa Monica, Calif.) Rhapsody Integration Engine to improve performance and increase the reliability of data exchanged between clinical systems and the hospital’s EMR solution, the company says.
The interface will establish a bidirectional information exchange between the pharmacy application and EMR, which Orion says is expected to save the hospital $180,000. The company says hospital saved more than $140,000 in licensing fees on the initial interface it created, which made data from patient monitoring devices available to clinicians within the hospital. Phoenix hopes to achieve more cost savings as Rhapsody is rolled out across the hospital’s systems and interfaces over the next year, it says. Founded in 1983, Phoenix Children’s Hospital provides care in more than 40 pediatric specialties. The hospital recently began a $588 million expansion that includes an upgrade to its current campus, along with new technology and new satellite centers.
