The National Heart Centre, a referral center for cardiovascular disease treatment based in Singapore, has successfully deployed Mortsel, Belgium-based Agfa HealthCare’s IMPAX HeartStation ECG Management System, a data management solution that automates the processing and storage of electrocardiograms.

According to the company, the IMPAX HeartStation is a vendor-neutral platform supporting most legacy and new ECG manufacturers. It features a standard-based architecture that allows it to integrate into existing hospital IT infrastructures and workflows, providing a single point of access to ECG exams from multiple modalities supporting rapid review, serial comparison, editing, and electronic signing of ECGs throughout the hospital enterprise.

With a 186-bed capacity, the National Heart Centre manages more than 9,000 inpatient admissions and completes over 80,000 outpatient consultations, 75,000 cardiac investigative procedures and 1,700 surgical operations annually. It is the only institution in Singapore that conducts heart and lung transplant programs.
