Western Maryland Health System (WMSH, Cumberland, Md.) plans to implement the Enterprise VISion real-time location system from Versus Technology, Inc. (Traverse City, Mich.) at WMHS Regional Medical Center, scheduled to open in November of 2009.

According to the company, the deployment is a multi-phased project that will eventually consist of patient, staff and asset tracking, which is designed to enhance staff efficiency and patient care. When expanded, Enterprise VISion will integrate with other hospital systems, including the GE Telligence nurse call life safety system, it says.

WMHS serves residents in Allegany and Garrett Counties in Maryland, five counties in West Virginia and two counties in Pennsylvania. The system includes two acute care hospitals, Memorial Hospital and Braddock Hospital. The new facility will combine all of the services at the two hospitals into one medical complex.
