Tampa, Fla.-based Moffitt Cancer Center has successfully partnered with U.K.-based GE Healthcare aimed to optimize efficiency and care capacity.

Tampa, Fla.-based Moffitt Cancer Center has successfully partnered with U.K.-based GE Healthcare aimed to optimize efficiency and care capacity. According to the company, Moffitt has added capacity for 900 new cancer procedures and additional operating margin in less than eight months.

The hospital engaged the GE Healthcare Performance Solutions team to reconfigure the surgical block schedule and improve key OR processes, enabling it to use existing facility and staff resources more effectively. GE consultants were also to help Moffitt improve on-time starts, it says.

Moffitt Cancer Center is an NCI Comprehensive Cancer Center. It currently has 15 affiliates in Florida, one in Georgia and two in Puerto Rico.
