The Continua Health Alliance (Beaverton, Ore.) and Integrating the Healthcare Enterprise International (IHE) have signed a memorandum of agreement to enable and promote the interoperability of healthcare devices, say the organizations.

s part of the deal, which is designed to enable both groups to expand their reach to new audiences, Continua and IHE will participate in joint educational and marketing efforts aimed at connecting medical and patient care devices with the healthcare system. The two organizations will showcase at the 2009 HIMSS conference, produce webinars, and develop educational materials on the value of interoperability.
