Siemens Medical Solutions (Malvern, Pa.) and Kameda Healthinformatics Institute Inc. (Tokyo) have formed Siemens Kameda Healthcare IT Systems K.K., a joint venture company.
Siemens contends this new company will focus on improving Kameda Healthinformatics Institute's clinical informatics system, KAI, implemented in nearly 30 Japanese hospitals, which includes electronic medical record, computerized physician order entry and nursing documentation functionalities.
According to Siemens, the formation of the company will boost its position in the rapidly developing Japanese healthcare market, further enhancing the availability of IT solutions and clinical systems in the country.
