On Tuesday, July 20, the Certification Commission for Health Information Technology (CCHIT) submitted its complete application to the Office of the National Coordinator to become an Authorized Testing and Certification Body (ONC-ATCB). The application included both Part 1, noting compliance with ISO Guides 65 and 17025, and Part 2, a response to the required proficiency exam. CCHIT awaits further guidance from ONC and the completion of the final test procedures and tools by the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST). CCHIT expects to be among the first to be authorized to provide ARRA certification.
