Geisinger Health System (Danville, Pa.), a provider of revenue cycle management, has teamed with Passport Health Communications (Franklin, Tenn.) to create a Health Level 7-based (HL7) system for insurance eligibility and address verification.
According to Geisinger, Passport's solution, IntelliSource, integrates with Geisinger's EPIC system and can integrate with all major health information or practice management systems.
Geisinger is using Passport's IntelliSource system for eligibility and address verification, says the company. Near-term plans, contends Geisinger, are to use IntelliSource for verifying medical necessity and Passport BatchSource for claims status processing.
