After 15 years, Chicago-based American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA) CEO Linda Kloss is stepping down. The effective date of Kloss’ exit is scheduled for March 31, 2010, AHIMA says. The organization has not yet named her successor, though it says its board of directors has initiated a national search.
AHIMA is a professional society. Its mission, it says, is to improve healthcare by advancing best practices and standards for health information management. It claims to serve as a trusted source for education, research and professional credentialing; representing more than 53,000 specially educated HIM professionals.
According to AHIMA, Kloss says she intends to continue her commitment to improving health information.
