Sarasota, Fla.-based Voalté unveiled its Voalté One iPhone application for nurses and other point-of-care workers.

Voalté says the application consolidates voice, alarm and text on the iPhone platform, enabling users to send and receive text messages, make voice calls, and receive critical care alarms on the iPhone, providing faster response to patient needs.

In 2009, Voalté launched a pilot program as part of its development partnership with Sarasota Memorial Hospital (Fla.) in which nurses could give immediate and direct feedback to the company via the iPhones. The hospital staff worked with the Voalté team to gauge the success of the solution, including how nurses adapted to carrying and using iPhones. The company says it used the feedback of more than 100 nurses and point-of-care workers and fine tuned the product for the needs of the individual departments and users.
