Excela Health, a three-hospital health system near Pittsburgh, Pa., has selected the Nashville, Tenn.-based Entrada automated clinical documentation solution to streamline the adoption of electronic records.

With the backing of its 130-plus employed doctors, Excela Health is implementing Entrada in outpatient facilities in its service area surrounding Greensburg, Latrobe, and Mount Pleasant. The Entrada platform allows doctors to document their patient visits by dictating into a smart phone or other recording device, and receiving completed clinical documentation, often in less than an hour. Entrada complements existing EHR systems, and will be used as an add-on service for Excela’s Allscripts Enterprise Health Records system in its clinics and McKesson Horizon system in its hospitals.
