Christiana Care Health System of Wilmington, Del., has integrated ED automatic patient tracking software with its inpatient bed management system, creating a computer-based system for patient flow from the ED presentation to patient placement.

The patient tracking software is from Mission Viejo, Calif.-based Patient Care Technology Systems (PCTS) and uses RFID technology.

Christiana Care Health System includes Christiana Hospital and Wilmington Hospital, with emergency departments that collectively treated over 150,000 patients in 2006.
