MicroMD EMR Version 4.6, the CCHIT certified electronic medical record system from Henry Schein Medical Systems, now integrates with patient vital signs monitoring devices from Skaneateles, N.Y.-based Welch Allyn.

According to Boardman, Ohio-based Henry Schein, the integration eliminates manual data entry to improve the collection and management of vital signs, including blood pressure and pulse rates.

Supported Welch Allyn devices in MicroMD EMR 4.6 include the Vital Signs Monitor 300 Series and Spot Vital Signs, says the company. The portable Vital Signs Monitor 300 Series features a noninvasive blood pressure monitor and has adult, pediatric and neonatal modes, whereas the handheld Spot Vital Signs device offers noninvasive blood pressure, pulse rate and mean arterial pressure (MAP) measurement, states Henry Schein.
