MGMA Asks for Extension for Incentive Program

The Englewood, Colo.-based Medical Group Management Association (MGMA) is petitioning the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS, Baltimore) to substantially modify the proposed meaningful use rule, or else risk failing to meet the goals for health IT adoption as established by ARRA.

Among the changes called for is a recommendation that CMS formally request a one-year legislative extension of Stage 1 of the incentive program from Congress. To read MGMA’s comments, which are outlined in a 43-page letter, click here.
