For two weeks, the Chicago-based Certification Commission for Healthcare Information Technology (CCHIT) will be recruiting work group volunteers to support its 2009 certification program.

Those interested are encouraged to apply from now until May 4.

The commission plans to expand into long-term care to other professional specialty areas, but says it intends to perform market research before recruiting volunteers or starting criteria development. The following work groups are now seeking volunteers:

  • Ambulatory EHR
  • Behavioral Health (New)
  • Cardiovascular Medicine
  • Child Health
  • Emergency Department EHR
  • Inpatient EHR
  • Interoperability
  • Personal Health Records (New)
  • Privacy & Compliance
  • Security
