Partners HealthCare, Boston, and Malvern, Pa.-based Siemens Medical Solutions USA have finalized an agreement to continue developing service-oriented architecture (SOA) infrastructures in healthcare IT, specifically within the Siemens Soarian SOA platform.
Soarian, a hospital information system, manages the process of healthcare and the interactions between members of the care team, as well as transactions and data, according to Siemens.
SOA delivers the capability to individually extend, reuse and access services. Deploying SOA into healthcare processes has the potential to improve system flexibility, while optimizing workflow throughout the enterprise, according to the organizations.
