San Francisco-based McKesson Corporation’s connectivity services business, RelayHealth, has acquired Columbus, Ohio-based revenue cycle management technology provider HTP Inc.
HTP provides connectivity solutions that address the growing burden of uncompensated healthcare, estimated to be $31.2 billion in 2006, it says. Designed to connect providers, health plans and financial institutions, HTP’s products promote timely reimbursement for patient services, ranging from verification of insurance eligibility to maintaining payment plans that aid in the collection of self-pay balances.
With the acquisition, RelayHealth hopes to enhance its services to automate and simplify healthcare organization’s financial management activities with patients and payers, according to the company.
