Saint Clare's Hospital Automates the ED

Saint Clare's Hospital in Weston, Wis., has signed with Addison, Texas-based Medhost to automate its emergency department (ED).

According to Medhost, Saint Clare's ED has shown improvements in the following areas:

· Average patient length of stay (LOS) is trending downward, under 120 minutes.

· Improvements in coding accuracy are better than the 10 percent expected.

· Patient satisfaction scores, as established by NRC Picker, have increased to 96.7 percent.

Medhost interfaces with Saint Claire's existing hospital information system, LastWord/IDX.
