The Hospital de la Santa Creu i Sant Pau, in Barcelona, Spain has signed a ten-year agreement with Netherlands-based Royal Philips Electronics to manage the imaging technology needs of the hospital’s imaging diagnostics department.

The contract is part of Philips’ managed services program, which incorporates a commitment from the company to provide medical technology, including upgrades and replacements, at a fixed monthly fee, it says.

As a result of the agreement, Hospital Sant Pau will become an international reference site for Philips.

Hospital de la Santa Creu i Sant Pau is the oldest hospital in Spain, with care extending beyond Barcelona and throughout Catalonia. It handles more than 34,000 admissions and 150,000 emergencies each year. The hospital has 71 day beds, 634 in-patient beds and 19 surgical rooms.
