Redmond, Wash.-based Microsoft Corp. is acquiring Sentillion Inc., an Andover, Mass.-based software company specializing in single sign-on, identity management, clinical workstations and desktop virtualization solutions.

Microsoft hopes to combine Sentillion’s products with its Amalga Unified Intelligence System (UIS) to streamline access to multiple IT applications and patient data, making it easier for healthcare professionals to deliver better patient care, it says.

Under the terms of the deal, which is expected to close in early 2010, Sentillion will continue to sell and support its products to both new and existing customers.
